Jeffrey Sachs
The world-wide renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs is visiting TU Wien for a public lecture. The event is held on April 4. Jeffrey Sachs is one of the world-wide leading experts on the fight against poverty an sustainable development. He serves as an advisor the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and has co-drafted the Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted in a UN resolution in 2015 and have followed onto the Millennium Development Goals. For over thirty years, Professor Sachs has advised dozens of heads of state and governments on economic strategy, in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Sachs is Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, New York, Professor of Sustainable Development and Professor of Public Health. The New York Times has said he is "probably the most important economist in the world".
