Lecture at the Lausanne Rotary Club

Marilyne Andersen was invited by the Rotary Club on 17th February, 2012 to give a seminar on her research and laboratory activities. The talk took place at the Lausanne Palace Hotel and was given to an audience of about 70 Rotary Club members from the Lausanne region. The Lausanne Rotary Club , that has been active for almost 100 years, gathers Rotary members from all professions in weekly conference luncheons. During her talk, Marilyne Andersen described her current research projects and the necessity for performance-integrated design in today's urge for energy-efficient, human-responsive living spaces. Within the overall framework of promoting linkages between the engineering and design fields, she discussed new approaches in research and education that are being developed to better integrate building performance considerations in the architectural design process, with a strategic focus on daylighting.
