Rorden Wilkinson
09 Sep 2013 A University of Manchester professor has been recognised by the International Studies Association for his contribution to the mentoring of women in the field of international political economy. Rorden Wilkinson, Research Director of the University's Brooks World Poverty Institute, says he is delighted to be the 2014 recipient of the Committee for the Society for Women in International Political Economy (SWIPE) Mentoring Award. Rorden joins other outstanding scholars to receive the award, since it was conceived in the 1990s. The award committee praised his dedication to helping scholars at many stages of their careers and all across the world. They also described 'respect and admiration' for his efforts reflecting the ISA's mission to promote an international network of scholars. The award will be presented at next year's ISA Convention in Toronto, Canada at the IPE section reception and a specially convened roundtable will be held in his honour. Rorden said: "This is an incredibly flattering award, and I'm delighted to receive it.
