MBE for Nottingham careers deputy director

The former Deputy Director of the Careers and Employability Service at The University of Nottingham has received royal recognition for the outstanding national impact she has had on careers guidance. Jan Perrett, who retired from her post at the University after 22 years in May this year, has been awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours. Jan said: "I am immensely proud to have been nominated for the MBE. It is particularly gratifying in this challenging time for graduates, that my work in careers guidance has been recognised. I feel it sends out a message about the importance of careers and employability services in Higher Education. It is also a tribute to The University of Nottingham which has put the employability of its students and graduates at the heart of the student experience." Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services As well as her role in senior management at Nottingham, Jan is also a national trainer for the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS). She has also been instrumental in the design and delivery of the sector-leading AGCS/University of Warwick MA module - 'Advanced Guidance Skills' for experienced practitioners, meaning that every higher education institution in the UK and Ireland can offer high quality career service guidance to their students and graduates.
