Motion Metrics launch Carv - a wearable digital ski coach

Carv is the first wearable technology dedicated to skiing that speaks to you as you ski, tracking and monitoring your performance. Inspired by Olympic technology, Carv gives you access to the feedback and knowledge previously only available to elite skiers. Utilising a smart boot insert and a clip on tracking device, Carv measures your motion and pressure distribution and relays feedback through your earphones in real-time. The device then connects wirelessly to your smartphone, providing information and analysis ranging from simple, actionable feedback for casual skiers to detailed metrics and analysis for advanced and professional users, helping you to improve your skiing whatever your level. Creating Carv. Motion Metrics, the team of Imperial alumni Jamie Grant (Business School), Pruthvikar Reddy (Mechanical Engineering) and Bo Xuan Hon (Aerospace Engineering) as well as Samit Patel behind Carv are currently based in the Imperial Incubator as they work to bring it to market via Kickstarter. "Kickstarter is an amazing platform that's really opened up funding for products like this." Jamie said, "As we've launched it we've found this whole community of people engaging with us and evangelising about Carv.
