New Fulbright professor announced

Professor Mark Macgowan, an expert in social work research, has been appointed as the next Fulbright-Scotland Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh. During the six month exchange, Professor Macgowan of Florida International University will undertake a research project to understand methods of group work in social work education. He will be based in the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, and will work closely with Social Work academics in Social and Political Science and Counselling colleagues in the School of Health. To enhance and educate. From September 2012, Professor Macgowan will deliver lectures and evidence based seminars to enhance and educate staff and students. Professor Macgowan has significant links with social work faculty at Edinburgh. Academics here have invited him to write a chapter on evidence-based practice for the proposed book, Social Work in a Global Context: Issues and Challenges.
