New virtual open day for postgraduate researchers

PA 39/11 - The University of Nottingham has launched its new Postgraduate Research Virtual Open Day - one of the first of its kind in the country. This huge resource of information - which will feature interactive web chats with academics - is a one stop shop for the growing number of postgraduates from all over the world who are applying for places at the University. Applications for postgraduate research at The University of Nottingham have increased by 30 per cent over the last three years. Whether they have made an application or if they want to find out more about applying and what life is like on campus postgraduate researchers can find out almost everything they need to know by using the new virtual open day website: www.nottingham.ac.uk/pg-virtualopenday With videos, podcasts, campus tours and guides, the virtual open day is packed with information about the facilities, campus life and the specialist support and guidance that is available to postgraduate researchers at The University of Nottingham. Nathalie Thomas, UK Recruitment and Events Manager, said: "Our postgraduates come from all over the world which makes it very difficult for them to visit us before applying, or once they have applied, for a place. We wanted to make the University real to them by creating a virtual environment which they can visit whenever they chose. "The application cycle for postgraduates is less structured than for undergraduates and the process of applying for university places, particularly for international students, can be daunting.
