NURTURE has the highest pregnancy rate in the Midlands

NURTURE - the Nottingham University Research and Treatment Unit in Reproduction - has maintained its position of achieving the highest clinical pregnancy rates in the Midlands. An impressive 60.8 per cent of patients under 35 years of age became pregnant between July 2007 and June 2008. Whilst the rates have been extremely good for the last few years, these latest figures show that NURTURE is now the second most successful clinic for this age group in the whole of the UK. During the same period 2006 to 2007, the live birth rate per embryo transfer increased to 47 per cent for women under the age of 35, again making NURTURE the top clinic in the Midlands, and the third most successful in the UK for this age group. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), the UK's independent regulator, has published the latest Clinical Pregnancy Rates from July 2007 to June 2008, and Live Birth Rates from July 2006 to June 2007, all of which are now available to view on their web site www.hfea.gov.uk - NURTURE's Clinical Director James Hopkisson said: "At NURTURE we are all very pleased with the newly published IVF success rates, which place the unit as one of the top UK IVF centres. More importantly it shows that more couples and women In the East Midlands are getting their much longed for family. Approximately 50 per cent of the treatments performed at NURTURE are funded by the National Health Service, and these pregnancy rates show that IVF is an effective treatment.
