Ian Young and Graham Durant sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
The long-standing relationship between ANU and Questacon has been reaffirmed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two national institutions. ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young met with Director of Questacon Professor Graham Durant for the signing on 19 July. Questacon began life in 1986 as an ANU outreach program developed by Physics lecturer Professor Mike Gore. Since then, the national science centre has grown in size and stature in the Australian science landscape. Its relationship with ANU encompasses a variety of joint ventures, seen most prominently in the Shell Questacon Science Circus. Students in this world-famous outreach program perform science shows throughout rural and regional Australia while studying for the Master of Science Communication Outreach at ANU. The Memorandum of Understanding marks a dynamic and lasting relationship between two institutions of national significance.
