Record turn-out at 2014 Careers Fair

Record turn-out at 2014 Careers Fair. This year's Careers Fair saw a record turn-out, with more than 3,100 students and graduates from Sussex, Brighton and other universities attending to speak to the 120 recruiting organisations. There was something for everyone at the Amex stadium: 77% of the employers were looking for students from any degree discipline and nearly a quarter were not-for-profit organisations, including charities and public services. As well as opportunities for jobs, the Careers Fair on 5 November offered general information on different professions and job-application processes, as well as advice for students considering further study or training. There was even a professional stylist, who was busy all day offering students individual advice on their personal style and appearance! Students also flocked to the workshops that took place during the event, including Presenting Yourself Professionally and Effective Job Search. Feedback from employers was really positive, with many commenting on the high standards of the students they spoke to and also the event in general. "It was by far the best organized careers fair I have attended and the enthusiasm from the students was outstanding," said one.
