Campus news - The largest campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Garching celebrates the topping out ceremony of its central infrastructure project, 'GALILEO,' today. In addition to a new lecture hall and space for TUM facilities, it houses shops, restaurants, a hotel with a guest house and a congress center. This gives the science-supporting services on campus a tremendous thrust. While the scientific facilities of the Garching research campus developed rapidly, the development of the infrastructure remained behind. An important step forward was the connection to the subway a few years ago. The infrastructure project "GALILEO", which today celebrates its topping-out ceremony, is the next important cornerstone for future campus development. The long-stretched building complex will be ready for occupancy in the TUM anniversary year of 2018.
