Support for threatened researchers

Universities can apply for funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to support threatened researchers in the 8th call for nominations in the Philipp Schwartz Initiative. Starting today, universities and research institutions in Germany can apply for funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to support threatened researchers in the 8th call for nominations in the Philipp Schwartz Initiative. Successful institutions will receive funding to grant fellowships to successfully nominated threatened scientists and scholars for research stays in Germany of initially up to 24 months. An extension of up to 12 months can be granted in the framework of a co-financing model. In a major change to the program, the Humboldt Foundation has significantly raised the auxiliary funds that host institutions receive in addition to the fellowship amounts: Institutions will receive 20. EUR for each Philipp Schwartz fellow that they host. These funds are intended to enable host institutions to create support structures for at-risk researchers and to foster further professional qualification through targeted measures, such as individual coachings, networking activities and others.
