Taking care of yourself during UCL’s winter closure period

However you’re spending the winter closure period, you’re not on your own. Find ways to take care of yourself, stay connected, and make the most of the break.

As UCL winds down for the closure period, it’s completely normal for this time of year to bring up a mix of emotions, from excitement to loneliness or apprehension. However you’re feeling, Student Support and Wellbeing Services are here for you.

Looking after your wellbeing and staying connected

After a busy term, it’s important to give yourself some time to slow down and recharge.

Use this break as a chance to rest, reflect, and reconnect with the things that make you feel grounded - whether that’s spending time on your hobbies, taking walks in nature to catch some winter sun, cooking a comforting meal, or simply taking time for yourself.

Moments of connection and care matter, remember to reach out to friends, family and loved ones and keep in touch - whether that’s in person or over a call.

There’s no one ’right’ way to spend your winter break, and your plans may look different from others. The important thing is that you can use the time to rest and recharge!
