The University of Queensland exceeds expectations for graduate employability

The University of Queensland has been identified as one of the top 30 universities in the world for partnerships with employers. The QS Graduate Employability Rankings position UQ 29^th of 600 measured institutes for successful collaboration with global companies to produce citable, transformative research and work placement-related partnerships. Acting UQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Aidan Byrne said UQ ranked well above the Australian and global averages on five detailed performance areas assessed in the latest QS report. "Not only was UQ among the leaders in regard to partnerships with employers, but it was also ahead of the pack in all other facets," Professor Byrne said. "We pride ourselves on simultaneously being a leading research institution, providing an outstanding environment for education, and facilitating the placement of graduates with employees who will turbo-charge their careers. "The rankings results are not through luck and it's been a concerted effort for UQ to raise the bar in forming partnerships with employers. "To those who have worked so hard within the university and to our collaborators in industry, this is deserved praise for having the vision to positively influence the life trajectories of thousands of graduates." Aside from partnerships with employers, the additional criteria measured in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings were graduate employment rate, employer reputation, alumni outcomes, and employer-student connections.
