Contemporary approaches to abstract art will be the focus of a series of exhibitions opening this week at The Australian National University. This Way Up, will feature the work of 37 abstract painters associated with ANU and will celebrate the diversity of painting practices in the work of current staff and students as well as alumni. The exhibition will present an exploration of painting as a material practice which engages the viewer visually as well as physically, intellectually and emotionally. This exhibition will be officially opened by Gordon Bull, Head of the ANU School of Art on Thursday 14 October 2010 at 6pm and run until 30 October 2010.
