Participants from around the globe joined the discussion on equality in global health leadership. On 19 June, Swiss TPH hosted a virtual seminar called Operation 50/50 and the Future of Global Health as part of the #TogetherApart seminar series. Women in Global Health presented on Operation 50/50 and researchers, frontline workers and participants in global health reflected on power and privilege in COVID-19 leadership. The event was held via Zoom and was also live-streamed, highlighting a trend of events, as well as classrooms and the workforce, adapting to the global crisis by going digital. The current COVID-19 pandemic shines a light on how interconnected we are as a global society, as well as the inequalities that persist. The rapid spread of this new disease is due in large part to the way that power and privilege play out in the provision of healthcare worldwide. In a recent virtual seminar hosted by Swiss TPH, researchers, frontline workers and participants in global health came together via Zoom or participated in the live-stream via YouTube to address this topic and work together towards solution-oriented change.
