Tudents urged to apply for new ScottishPower Foundation Masters Scholarships
The ScottishPower Foundation has today announced 14 new post-graduate scholarship grants, available at the University of Glasgow, for the 2016/17 academic year. The UK programme will work in partnership with its Spanish equivalent, the Fundación IBERDROLA, in Spain to offer 24 scholarship places in the UK in total and 130 places worldwide. The scholarships programme aims to contribute to the education of young professionals with the capabilities required to lead the energy industry into the future. Applications for the forthcoming academic year opened on Monday 8 February and will close on Tuesday 29 March. Grants are available to those who wish to study towards qualifications in energy and environment related studies at the University of Glasgow. The programme is calling on recent graduates wishing to pursue a career in energy and environment related studies with a particular focus on the development of renewable energies and boosting biodiversity, as well as the efficiency of the energy system. Since it was launched in 2010, the scheme has provided over £2.5 million in grants towards training the next generation excellence in their chosen field.
