UCL Institute of the Americas
UCL is building on its existing strength in teaching and research on the Americas by establishing the UCL Institute of the Americas as part of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences. The UCL Institute of the Americas will promote, coordinate and provide a focus for research and postgraduate teaching on the Americas - Latin America, the United States, the Caribbean and Canada. It will also be offering a series of events and regular seminar series from next autumn on a variety of themes and countries. These will be advertised on the website in due course. The new Institute will be headed by Professor Maxine Molyneux from July 2012. She is currently Director of the Institute for the Study of the Americas at the School of Advanced Study (SAS), University of London. She will be joined by Professor Iwan Morgan, Professor Kevin Middlebrook, Paulo Drinot, Kate Quinn, Par Engstrom and Graham Woodgate also currently in post at SAS.
