UCL scoops EcoCampus Bronze Award
UCL has received a Bronze Award from the EcoCampus scheme. EcoCampus is a HEFCE funded scheme which enables higher education institutions to develop their own environmental management system. Further information about the scheme can be found on the EcoCampus website at the link above. Given the size, complexity and geographical spread of UCL's estate, the initial EcoCampus programme has been limited to approximately 80 buildings around the Bloomsbury area (including the UCL Institute of Child Health). However, a representative range of academic, support and residential activities are included within this collection of buildings. The intention is to extend UCL's EcoCampus across the entire estate once the environmental management system has been developed. The requisite planning activities were completed in August 2010 and an audit by EcoCampus was successfully completed.
