UK General Election 2017 – Durham University expertise
A selection of Durham University experts who are available for comment to the media in the lead-up to, and during, the upcoming 2017 General Election is listed below. Durham University operates over two campuses. Our Durham campus is in the Durham City constituency (held by Labour's Dr Roberta Blackman-Woods) and Queen's Campus, in Stockton, is in the Stockton South constituency (held by the Conservative James Wharton). Constituency Explorer Professor Jim Ridgway from Durham's School of Education has updated the Constituency Explorer he designed in collaboration with the House of Commons Library in 2015. It is an interactive, online tool that uniquely provides data on all 650 constituencies that make up the United Kingdom. The tool enables users to compare and contrast data from each parliamentary constituency on issues as varied as home ownership, country of birth, health and occupation. The data used is from the last Census and includes the 2015 General Election results.
