US University to fly the flag for Lindisfarne Gospels Durham Durham University's namesake in the US, Durham in North Carolina, will be flying the flag for the Lindisfarne Gospels Durham exhibition. A visiting delegation of academics and students from Duke University has taken a Lindisfarne Gospels street banner across the ocean to display on their campus after receiving approval of their special request. The delegation was so impressed with the exhibition and the city that they were keen to help spread the word about the exhibition , which is taking place in Palace Green Library until 30 September. Durham University has long had strong links with Duke University, a top performing university in the US.
