VIASM delegation visits ENS de Lyon

On the occasion of this visit Ngô Bao Châu - 2010 Fields Medal, Professor at the University of Chicago and Scientific Director of VIASM - gives two talks on "The geometry of Hitchin fibration" . The vision of VIASM is to become an excellent research center in mathematics, with good working environment same as in some developed countries. It is a place for academic exchanges to build the scientific capacity of researchers and teachers of pure and applied mathematics in Vietnam. VIASM is the main institution in implementing the National Program for the Development of Mathematics from 2010 to 2020 (NPDM). This program is responsible for encouraging young students to learn mathematics, improving the quality of teaching and learning mathematics at school and university level as well as dissemination of scientific knowledge to the public. Led by University of Lyon as part of IDEXLYON, LabEx MiLyon is a group of laboratories in mathematics and computer science bringing together 350 researchers on the Lyon - Saint-Étienne campus. Through the implementation of an ambitious programme of high-level international scientific actions and events, it develops cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, particularly at the interfaces of these disciplines.
