Wingara Mura Academy offers early career academic opportunities

Expressions of interest for our 2015 Wingara Mura Academy close on 15 July. The University of Sydney created the Academy to support and develop the careers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics across the University. The Academy is part of the broader Wingara Mura Leadership Program that aims to create entry points and pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academic and professional staff. Entry to the Academy is via PhD candidature and is available to new employees whose research interests align with the University's faculties and disciplines. "Our newly established Wingara Mura Academy aims to make us the university of choice for talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early career academics," said Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Indigenous Strategy and Services, Professor Shane Houston. "The Academy will help grow and nurture burgeoning academic careers," Professor Houston said. Those who are currently enrolled in, planning to commence or have recently completed a PhD are invited to express their interest before 15 July 2015.
