Professor Harari, the historian and best-selling author of Sapiens and Homo Deus, will join eminent scientists on stage at a special event to help mark EPFL's 50th anniversary year. The initial batch of 2,200 free tickets was snapped up in just a few hours. Another 500 tickets will be released at 9am today. The event will also be streamed live at www.epfl.ch. Yuval Noah Harari has sold millions of books and notched up just as many views on YouTube. The Israeli historian - known for his thought-provoking and sometimes controversial views - will be taking part in a high-level panel discussion at 5pm on Wednesday, 10 July at the SwissTech Convention Center. The initial batch of 2,200 tickets for the free event, organized in conjunction with the Empowerment Foundation to help mark EPFL's 50th anniversary, was snapped up just hours after being released.
