The position

The Centre for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) is seeking a biostatistician with experience in epidemiology, public health, and national register data. You will support longitudinal register-based and clinical research projects, primarily within a research line connected to psychiatry and neuroscience.

  • Manage and prepare data and perform statistical analyses from clinical trials
  • Request, manage, process, and analyze regional and national register data
  • Conduct statistical analyses in register-based, experimental, population-based, and molecular genetic projects
  • Present results in publication-ready format
  • Support researchers in planning and study design
  • Provide advice on statistical analysis methods and contribute to the interpretation of results
  • Contribute statistical expertise and methodological development within the research group

The person we need

We are looking for someone with a university degree focused on biostatistics, statistics, mathematical statistics, computer science, or an equivalent field. We also expect that you have solid knowledge and experience working with statistical software, primarily R, SAS, SPSS, and Stata.

We expect you to have experience in epidemiology, public health, and register-based research, as well as the ability to work on several tasks in parallel.

Strong communication skills are important, as you will collaborate with researchers with varying levels of statistical knowledge. The work takes place in international research groups, which requires excellent English skills, both spoken and written.

We value an interest in professional development in biostatistics, epidemiology, genetics, computational science, and AI. Experience in population genetics and molecular genetic research is considered an asset, as is an interest in--and preferably previous experience with--research in the healthcare or medical field.
