Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology, Old Road Campus Research Building, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7DQ

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist with relevant experience in MHC-E biochemistry/biology, T cell immunology and virology to progress the design of MHC-E based vaccine candidates.

You will be working collaboratively alongside an existing team to support research currently centred on MHC-E peptide binding biochemistry, T cell immunology and vaccine design. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities once initial training is satisfactorily completed, keeping daily records of work performed ensuring research is performed safely, legally and to the highest possible standards. This role also includes establishing and maintaining a good understanding of the research field by reading key reviews and research articles and collaborating in the preparation of scientific reports.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion) in molecular immunology, ideally in the field of non-classical major histocompatibility complex E (MHC-E) and T cell recognition. You will be able to clearly demonstrate your evidence of growing CD8+ T cell clones, isolating/sequencing T cell receptors, and working with lentiviral systems to generate TCR-transduced T cells. Together with excellent communication skills, the ability to write for publication, present research proposals results, and represent the research group at meetings is required.

Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.
