Please note that a £5,000 per annum market supplement (pro-rated and non-pensionable) is available for the successful applicant on provision of proof of current membership of an approved accounting body and evidence they hold the appropriate accountancy qualifications. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager in the Finance Office, working with the University’s Campus and Commercial Services Group (CCSG). Reporting to the Deputy CFO, CCSG, you will provide accurate and timely management information to senior University management, Directors of commercial activities and other stakeholders, in order to aid planning, control and decision-making, especially in the deployment of University resources. You will provide finance business partnering to the portfolio of businesses you work with and be responsible for advising and providing high support, high challenge on a variety of financial matters, including evaluating business proposals and supporting the businesses to achieve their financial targets. Leading a small team, you will oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts and 5-year plans for the businesses you support, including relevant subsidiary accounting and contributing to Board reporting and annual audit. You will also be responsible for accurate and effective transactional processing, maintaining data integrity and financial control. About You You will be an ambitious and pro-active individual with excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills. You will have broad experience within a Finance function and possess a sound knowledge of accounting standards and management accounting and possess a recognised CCAB or CIMA professional accountancy qualification. Experience or understanding of the unique challenges that commercial businesses face working within the highly regulated university environment would be an advantage. You will have excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel skills and an understanding of the structure of large-scale financial information systems, e.g. SAP. About the Department CCSG includes a diverse range of commercial businesses including Warwick Conferences, Warwick Food Group, Warwick Employment Group, Warwick Sports and Warwick Arts Centre, all operating within the University setting. The University Finance Office supports business planning and innovation to maximise the financial resources available to the University and create the long-term sustainable financial platform required for future growth. The role is campus based however staff can opt to work under the Finance Office’s current hybrid policy where a maximum of 40% of time (2 days per week for full-time staff, typically Tuesday and Friday) can be worked remotely.
