Durham welcomes new guidelines about reporting of animal research Durham University has welcomed new guidelines to ensure all reporting of research with animals is high-quality and transparent. The UK's National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) is calling for endorsement of its benchmark ARRIVE guidelines to maximise information published on animal research to reduce the potential for unnecessary animal use. Durham University has taken several steps in recent years to be more open about animal research, which includes publishing a detailed statement on its website. Last year the University joined other members of the scientific community in signing up to a national Concordat for openness in animal research.
