We’ve extended the deadline for completing your appraisal to 31 July 2025. Find out more about what you need to know, plus where to find further information and support.

Since launching MyAppraisal in early 2025, we’ve continued to see an increase in the number of colleagues engaging with the new platform across UCL. Thank you to everyone who has made progress with the process and shared feedback so far. In the spirit of continuous improvement, we are committed to conducting a comprehensive review at the end of this cycle to feed into improvements ahead of the 25/26 appraisal window.

Appraisal window extension

To give colleagues more time to have meaningful reflections and conversations, we have extended the deadline for completing Parts A and B within MyAppraisal to 31 July 2025. This extension is designed to ensure that we all’have sufficient opportunity to fully engage with the appraisal process.

Part C, which involves an optional review from second-line appraisers - such as Heads of Department and Deans - can be completed up until the end of September. This extension recognises the scope of responsibilities many senior colleagues hold and aims to support opportunities to provide feedback.

After September, we will pause the MyAppraisal system to enable continuous improvements ahead of the next cycle.

New reporting feature for line managers now live

A new reporting feature within MyAppraisal is also now live, giving Line Managers real-time visibility of appraisal completions across their teams. The enhancement enables managers to view each of their team members’ progress in their appraisal journeys, helping to support more timely follow-ups and collaboration.

If you are a Line Manager at UCL, you can find this feature from the Thrive welcome page - just click the three lines in the top right-hand corner and select ’Standard Reports’.

To support use of the new tool, we have also developed a Line Manager’s Guide to Completion Reports featuring step-by-step instructions. You can access the guide, along with other helpful resources, via the MyAppraisal Data and Reporting page.
