ANU and Fujitsu join forces

The Australian National University and Fujitsu Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their respective commitments to solving challenging problems of long-term value and global impact. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Japan by ANU Vice-Chancellor Ian Young and President of Fujitsu Limited Mr Masami Yamamoto, will enable collaborations benefiting both organisations and the communities they serve. "As Australia's national university we are proud to foster a strong working relationship with a world leading organisation," said Young. "Fujitsu, a global leader in advanced ICT, is committed to the creation of a secure networked society through innovation in the global digital economy. ANU, an international research intensive university, complements Fujitsu's strategic commitment through its outstanding research capabilities and its national role in focusing on challenges facing humanity. "Recognising the distinctive capabilities created by these complementary strategies will create exchange opportunities for researchers from both organisations." "Fujitsu is pleased to continue collaboration with ANU, a relationship of over two decades based on our fundamental computing technology. This agreement is another step taken to realize Fujitsu's vision of a Human Centric Intelligent Society, and encourages the promotion of science and technology by closely cooperating with ANU," said President Yamamoto.
