ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young has congratulated all recipients of National Health and Medical Research grants, particularly the 18 winners from The Australian National University. Professor Young said ANU researchers had been awarded a total of more than $9 million in the health and medical research grants and fellowships, announced today by Mental Health and Ageing Minister Mark Butler. "The range of funded ANU projects includes research into brain injury, diabetes, cardiac hypertrophy and health outcomes in urban Aboriginal children," Professor Young said. "These grants will provide a significant boost to help the University contribute to invaluable Australian research that will advance health and medicine internationally." Professor Young said the grants were a reflection of the standard of research and researchers at ANU.
