I warmly welcome you to this new beginning,' said president of the Executive Board Geert ten Dam as she opened Academic Year 2021-2022 on Monday, 6 September, in the Aula. Addressing the assembled audience, Ten Dam, as well as a number of students and young employees, wondered: What kind of future do we imagine for Generation Alpha - the generation that is growing up now? And what insights can we take from the corona crisis? Ten Dam: 'As a university, we shape our work together with young people. After all, our education and research influence long-term areas that are crucial for future generations. We must reflect on the legacy we are leaving for Generation Alpha - the children born after 2010. I would therefore like to hear from the younger generation about how they see the future.
