CNRS to play major part in ESOF 2018

Toulouse is to host the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), Europe's largest interdisciplinary gathering on science and innovation, from 9 to 14 July 2018. In parallel with this event for researchers, the city is organising the 'Science in the City' festival from 7 to 15 July, with over 120 events aimed at sharing science with the public. For around ten days, the pulse of Toulouse, European City of Science 2018, will beat to the rhythm of science. CNRS and its laboratories will be playing a major role in both the forum and the festival, two unprecedented events for Toulouse and France. EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) Founded in 2004 by the EuroScience association, this European event, held every two years, brings together around 4,000 researchers and socio-cultural, economic and political players from all over the world. CNRS will be particularly involved in the Science to business programme dedicated to innovation, which will showcase a selection of start-ups emanating from labs in Toulouse (SmartCatch, IMD Pharma, etc), laboratories jointly run with companies or implementing innovative technologies, together with CNRS facilities for technology transfer and innovation. CNRS will also be present on the stand of the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
