Everyone welcome at The University of Nottingham Community Open Day

PA 79/10 Have you ever wondered why some gases glow? Or what it takes to be a vet? How biologists see inside the human body? Or what a helicopter and a rubber band have in common? What it felt like to be a juror on the most notorious criminal cases in history? Or what the homes of the future will look like? The Community Open Day at The University of Nottingham is the place to discover all this information — and more. A fun, interactive day for people of all ages and interests, all you need to enjoy this event is an enquiring mind and an urge to find out what's going on on your own doorstep. Entrance to the Community Open Day and all of the activities is free, so come along and get involved in science experiments, sociological debates and community projects. Experts from across the institution are opening their doors for the day, inviting visitors to come and explore labs, take part in experiments and chat with academics who are carrying out world-changing research right here in Nottingham. And it's not just academics who will be available to talk about the work of the University. Visitors can try out the sports facilities, learn a new language at the One Stop Language Shop, and find out how they can join the University community — either as a student or a colleague — through our jobs and adult learning stalls.
