Free spaces for Cardiff Half Marathon
Cardiff University is offering limited free spaces to runners taking part in one of the UK's most popular half marathons. Runners wanting to secure the free places in the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon must pledge to raise funds for the University's cancer research or dementia & mental health research. All 100 per cent of the funds raised by the #TeamCardiff runners will go towards University research in these areas. The University has been ranked in the top three in the UK for Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience alongside Cambridge and Oxford universities. While University staff, students and alumni are encouraged to run for #TeamCardiff, the limited free spaces are open to everyone. To be eligible runners must pledge to raise at least £150, or £100 for students. The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 2 October, last year attracted 22,000 entries making it one of the biggest races of its type in the country.
