Gallery display of much-loved artist

Memorable images by one of Scotland's most distinctive painters will go on display at the University's Talbot Rice Gallery. The exhibition of 26 paintings by Craigie Aitchison is the first display of the artist's work to be held in Scotland since Aitchison's death in December last year. Craigie Aitchison. Craigie Aitchison was born in Fife and died aged 83, having built his reputation on instantly recognisable painting style. Paintings between 1950 and 2007 focus on still life and portraits, but also feature subject matter that became closely identified with Aitchison. This included pictures of Bedlington terriers, landscapes with boats and compelling religious imagery.
