If you go down to the woods in June...
Families have the chance to search for one of the rarest money spiders in the world and sample the diversity of local wildlife if they take part in the first Bioblitz to be held at Plymbridge Woods. Organised by experts from the University of Plymouth’s School of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, the Bioblitz, on 12 and 13 June, features a number of family-friendly activities. Guided walks to hunt for plants and animals will be led by expert researchers. Children will be able to try out the Bug Brolly to collect as many different species as possible. Later there will be a bat tracking walk and an evening moth trapping event. “Our goal is to try and find as many different species as possible, and we need help. We are hoping to record over 1,000 species.
