Fulbright Summer Institute students
Following a very successful UK Fulbright Summer Institute at King's College London last summer the College has secured the prestigious programme for the years 2013 to 2015. This year the theme is "London and the British City - Past and Present" and it will run between 1 July and 19 July. The Fulbright Summer Institute is jointly organized by the King's Institute of North American Studies, International Programmes and Summer Programmes. The four participating students this year are; Samantha Birk from Binghamton University, New York majoring in Psychology and Management and minoring in dance; Alexandria Bottelsen from the University of Connecticut majoring in Secondary Education and English; Robert Breeden a pre-med and studies Biology at Kansas State University; and Conor Dube from Princeton, New Jersey who chose Near Easter Studies as his major and minors in American Studies as well as Spanish. The course is taught by Jason Luger from the King's Geography Department. The students are mentored by two King's MA American Studies students, Anna Guettler and Emma Croft. During their three weeks at King's, the students will study British cities as social, economic, political, and cultural engines and as driving forces of globalization.
