Lifetime achievement award for Sussex geographer

Tony Fielding, migration expert and Emeritus Professor of Geography, is to be one of the first recipients of the new Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Population Geography Research Group (PopGRG) of the Royal Geographical Society and Institute of British Geographers. In December 2012, the PopGRG hosted a conference on Fielding's book Migration Processes and Patterns (co-edited with Tony Champion), which - in the 20 years since its publication - has been a key resource for scholars and teachers of migration and human geography. Fielding's award is just one of two and will be presented in June at the seventh International Conference on Population Geographies in Groningen, Netherlands.
