Dr Fleur Garton
Dr Fleur Garton is investigating the contribution of genetic factors to the risk of developing MND, and the use of blood profiling as a biomarker to improve MND diagnosis and disease tracking.
Dr Adam Walker is focused on understanding the biochemical changes that occur early in MND to build a map of protein alterations that occur as the disease progresses - knowledge that is helping him uncover potential therapeutic drug targets.
Dr Jing Zhao is part of a team investigating a molecule called EphA4, which is involved in MND pathogenesis. Blocking EphA4 is identified as a promising potential therapy for people with MND.
