Mobil 1 Team Sussex on track for Silverstone. Mobil 1 Team Sussex have unveiled the student-designed-and-built car that they hope will speed them into the world's top 20 at the 2013 Formula Student competition. Formula Student is an international competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which challenges university students to design, build, develop, and compete as a team with a single-seat racing car. The car was launched at an event held in the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts (ACCA) Creativity Zone on campus on Tuesday (28 May). Special guests included Professor Diane Mynors, Head of the School of Engineering and Informatics, and Dr Johnson Beharry VC, one of Mobil 1 Team Sussex's patrons. Team Sussex consists of a diverse combination of both thirdand fourth-year automotive, mechanical and electrical engineering students, as well as a small number of product designers and media students. The team has grown in popularity over the last year with nearly 50 students involved in the project compared to just 27 in 2012.
