Professor John Hosking, the new Dean of the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Professor John Hosking has been appointed as the new Dean of the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science. Making the announcement ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young said the University community was very pleased to welcome Professor Hosking, who comes from a long and distinguished career at University of Auckland - most recently as Director of the Centre for Software Innovation and Professor of Applied Computer Science. Professor Young said: 'Professor Hosking has an outstanding academic record in the fields of software engineering and computer science, having authored over 200 refereed publications in these fields. His research has attracted strong funding support from both government competitive grants and industry. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. 'Professor Hosking is also an accomplished educator, having received a New Zealand National Tertiary Teaching Excellence award, and a University of Auckland Teaching Award for Research Supervision. 'With an outstanding background in academic administration, research and teaching excellence, Professor Hosking has all the attributes to build on the strong position the College holds and to take it to the next phase of its development.' Professor John Hosking said: "I am very much looking forward to taking up this role.
