New Dean of UCL Social & Historical Sciences appointed
UCL is delighted to announce that Professor Sasha Roseneil has been appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences (SHS). She will be based in the UCL Institute of Advanced Studies as Professor of Interdisciplinary Social Science. Sasha joins UCL from the University of Essex where she is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor of Sociology. She has led Social Sciences at Essex through an unprecedented period of growth, and has overseen the appointment of more than 60 new academics and the establishment of a new Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies. Sasha is a sociologist and a group analyst, with broad interdisciplinary research interests and collaborations. She has made major contributions to the study of social movements and gender politics. Her research on intimacy, care and personal life, on citizenship and collective action, on gender and sexuality, and in psychosocial studies has earned a global reputation.
