With her research, she wants to create the basis for a more targeted treatment of cancer and immune diseases. Viruses, bacteria and other pathogens have developed a number of sophisticated strategies to remain undetected by the human immune system. They deceive, camouflage and kill. Anna Lippert is researching how our immune cells nevertheless manage to identify and eliminate them.
