Photo Exhibition 1
On Monday 26 November 2018, the Chinese Embassy in Brussels hosted a reception to officially launch the "Photo Exhibition on the Achievements of China-Belgium S & T Cooperation". The Chinese Embassy organized this event on the occasion of the visit of a high level delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology headed by H.E. Mr. ZHANG Jianguo, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (PR China). They wanted to show that, since the signing of the agreement for cooperation between Belgium and China almost 40 years ago, the cooperation has continued to boost. The Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Cao Zhongming, stated as follows: "Although Belgium as a country is small in surface and population, they are one of the key players in the field of technology." With a group of 25 students and professors, Ghent University was well represented on this event. Out of the total of 30 posters, 13 presentations were submitted by Ghent University and were putting the spotlight on the activities in the framework of some of our prestigious projects with China such as INPAC, coordinated by Zhang Wei-Hong of the ICRH, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and of some of the Joint Laboratories that Ghent University has with specific partner universities in China. Four from the six initiators of a Joint Lab were present together with some of their Chinese and Belgian doctoral and postdoctoral students: Prof. Sarah De Saeger, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences representing her " SIBS-UGENT-SJTU Joint Laboratory of Mycotoxin Research
