Aihua Zou Chinese Alumni of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation have collected more than 170,000 yuan (about 22,000 EUR) in donations. Most of the money was used to buy protective gear which was donated to Germany's health ministry. The federal government was air-freighting it to Germany. One of the co-initiators of the aid campaign is Xinzheng Zhang from Nankai University in Tianjin, China. He was a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Münster in 2012. At the Institute of Applied Physics he conducted in the group of Prof. Cornelia Denz on nonlinear photonics.
