Start-up Mynigma Wins Prize at CeBIT Computer Trade Fair
Spin-off of Freie Universität Won 30,000 Euros. On Monday at the CeBIT computer trade fair in Hanover, the spin-off Mynigma of Freie Universität Berlin won the CeBIT Innovation Award second prize along with 30,000 euros. Designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the email app "M" encrypts messages between its users almost automatically. Mynigma was founded with support from profund, the start-up support service of Freie Universität. The selection committee emphasized that the developers Roman Priebe and Lukas Neumann succeeded in achieving a balance between high security and easy use. The new program "M" is able to almost automatically carry out all of the annoying work of production, distribution, and management of keys often only understandable for IT professionals. Monitoring and eavesdropping by unauthorized third parties is prevented, and the threshold for attacks is increased significantly.
