U president Kaler, athletic director Maturi and Marching Band to headline State Fair parade. An annual highlight for fairgoers takes place this Sunday, Aug. Maroon and Gold Day. Visitors are encouraged to proudly wear their maroon and gold attire, stop by the U of M's building for trivia and Goldy Gopher appearances and see the university's Marching Band in the State Fair parade. University president Eric Kaler and his wife, Karen, will be joined in the parade by athletic director Joel Maturi and his wife, Lois. It will be Kaler's first day at the fair as president.
