Sympathy and solidarity with Heidelberg - flags at half-mast today

As a sign of sympathy, flags will be flown at half-mast. We stand together side-by-side with all those affected by the fatal attack, with the students and staff of the University and with the citizens of the city of Heidelberg. Our thoughts today are especially with the victims and survivors of the attack. Our thanks go to all those who assisted at the scene, the emergency services, the medical staff and especially the staff and students of the University itself. "We are shocked and saddened.
