Thoughts on Convocation and the summer ahead

Thank you to the many volunteers, staff and faculty who contributed to the success of convocation. By Vivek Goel President and Vice-Chancellor - Over the past week, our community came together to mark some significant milestones in the lives of our alumni and graduating students. More than 7,000 degrees, diplomas and certificates were awarded during 16 convocation ceremonies and 4 celebrations. Never before have we celebrated convocations for three classes - from 2020, 2021 and 2022 - in one week. Perhaps most significant was the opportunity to once again connect in person with our friends and colleagues. The connections and communities that we develop on our campuses and beyond are the foundation of what makes the University of Waterloo so special. Thank you to the many volunteers, staff and faculty who contributed to the success of convocation.
